The Browns' School

Our Mission

Our Mission

At The Browns’ School, we are committed to providing specialised, inclusive education that supports the unique needs, strengths, and potential of every learner. Through compassionate care, structured support, and individualised learning programmes, we strive to develop each child’s confidence, independence, life skills, and overall wellbeing in a safe and nurturing environment.

Our school is made up of three specialised sections, each designed to meet the diverse educational and developmental needs of our learners:

Long-Term Remedial Section

Grade 000 – Grade 7

Our remedial section follows the CAPS curriculum while providing specialised support for learners with:

  • specific learning disabilities,
  • Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD),
  • and cerebral palsy.

Small class sizes, differentiated teaching methods, and individualised support allow learners to progress academically at their own pace while developing confidence, resilience, and a positive attitude towards learning.

This section aims to provide learners with the tools and support needed to reach their full academic and personal potential through the implementation of their Individual Support Plans.

Special Needs Unit

Ages 3 – 18

This section caters for learners with cerebral palsy and medically compromised conditions who benefit from a more functional, practical, and skills-based approach to learning. The programme focuses on:

  • communication and interaction,
  • daily living skills,
  • sensory development,
  • functional academics,
  • physical development,
  • and promoting independence to the fullest extent possible.

Learners are supported within a caring environment that celebrates progress at every stage of development.

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) Unit

Ages 4 – 18

Our ASD unit consists of eight specialised classes designed for learners on the Autism Spectrum who require additional educational and developmental support. Teaching strategies are adapted to meet individual sensory, communication, social, and behavioural needs.

This programme focuses on:

  • structured learning,
  • communication development,
  • emotional regulation,
  • social interaction,
  • life skills,
  • and academic growth within a supportive and understanding environment.

Our Commitment

At The Browns’ School, we believe that every child deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, and experience success. Through specialised education, dedicated staff, and a holistic approach to development, we work to create a learning environment where every learner feels valued, supported, and empowered for the future.
